Spray Painting is a painting technology where in a device is used to spray a coating of paint, ink, varnish etc. through the air onto the surface. The most common type employed comprises of air to atomize and direct the flow of paint particles. The olden days air brushes are replaced with spray guns and the two are mainly distinguished by means of their size and the size of the spraying pattern that they produce. Airbrushes are supposed to be hand-held and they are used instead of a brush for detailed work such as photo retouching, painting of the nails or fine art. On the other hand air gun spraying uses equipment that is found to be generally larger. It is mainly used for spraying large surfaces with an even coating of the painting liquid. Spray guns come as two types either automated or hand-held and they come with interchangeable heads that allow different spray patterns.
Gas Air Gun Spraying occurs when paint is spread on an object through the use of an air-pressurized spray gun. The air gun generally comes with a nozzle, a paint basin, and a air compressor. When the trigger is pressed the paint usually mixes with the compressed air stream and it is released as a fine spray
These Airless Paint Sprayers come in a wide range of nozzle shapes and sizes, and the consistency of the paint is usually varied because of this. You should take into consideration the shape of the work piece, the desired paint consistency and the pattern when choosing a nozzle. The three most common types of nozzles are the full cone, hollow cone, and the flat stream. There are generally two types of air-gun spraying processes. If you observe, in a manual operation, the air-gun sprayer is usually held by a skilled operator, about 6 to 10 inches (15–25 cm) away from the object, and it is moved back and forth over the surface. Each stroke will overlap the previous coating to ensure a continuous and even coat. Whereas in an automatic process, the gun head will be attached to a mounting block and it delivers the stream of paint from that particular position. The object to be painted is generally placed on rollers or a turntable in order to ensure overall equal coverage of all the sides of the object.
The Gas Airless Paint Sprayer has its own advantage over the electric air paint sprayers.
